ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Maxwell V. L. Barclay is President of the

Coleopterists Society and Senior Curator of

Coleoptera (Beetles) at the Natural History Museum,

in London, UK. He manages a team of expert

staff and one of the largest, oldest, and most

comprehensive beetle collections in the world,

including 8 million beetle specimens of around

250,000 species. A passionate entomologist, Max

strives to increase awareness and knowledge of

entomology, insect collections, and the natural

habitats that sustain us all.

Patrice Bouchard is a scientist at the Canadian

National Collection of Insects, Arachnids, and

Nematodes. His research focuses on the systematics of

weevils and darkling beetles, with a focus on groups of

importance to agro-ecosystems. He is active in scientific

societies such as the Entomological Society of Canada

and the International Commission on Zoological

Nomenclature. Other co-authored books include

Tenebrionid Beetles of Australia and The Book of Beetles.
